After several attempts to defeat Sergeant Avery Johnson’s task force on the Tiara (Orbital Space Station which supports the 7 space elevators), the ten-Brute team led by Tartarus (a young Brute pack leader) is betrayed by Dadab and Lighter Than Some, hindering his chance to stop the Harvesters onboard the freighters to flee to safety.
Harvest is glassed.
There is first formal contact between the Covenant and humans on Harvest. Humans including Staff Sergeant Avery Junior Johnson, Jilan al-Cygni, Governor Nils Thune, Attorney General Ron Pederson, and others had the first meeting with the Jiralhanae at Harvest’s Botanical Gardens. Communications go awry and the Human-Covenant war begins.
Captain Jacob Keyes, Service Number: 01928-19912-JK, was born.
During the three decades that he was enlisted in military service, Keyes commanded a number of UNSC ships including the Midsummer Night, the Iriquois and the Pillar of Autumn. In 2517, he also assisted in secretly evaluating candidates for the SPARTAN-II project with Dr. Catherine Halsey. He was known for his unwavering bravery and tactical brilliance, which can be seen in the Keyes Loop.
He died on September 22nd, in the year 2552, in the clutches of the Flood, on the Forerunner Installation known as Halo.
Lieutenant Commander Kat-B320, Spartan-III, was born on the world New Harmony. She was an expert cryptanalyst and a brilliant tactician, and her skills were a critical component of Noble Team’s effectiveness.
After the battle for the colony of Fumirole, Kat received a prosthetic arm from an attempt to plant a bomb on a Covenant cruiser.
Kat lost her life on August 23, 2552, while trying to defend the city of New Alexandria.
the smart AI Serina (SNA 1292-4) was activated. As the onboard AI construct of the UNSC Spirit of Fire, Serina played an important role in the ship’s campaign on Harvest, Arcadia, and eventually the Forerunner shield world.
Staff Sergeants Avery Johnson and Nolan Byrne, along with Captain Ponder, begin training Harvest’s Colonial Militia.
the AI Superintendent of the City of New Mombasa was activated. As a second-generation “dumb” AI, it managed a vast array of municipal functions. Although, it also carried a special subroutine named “Vergil”, designed by its architect, Doctor Endesha, to care for her daughter Sadie.
Commander Miranda Keyes was killed by the Prophet of Truth, sacrificing her life to save Sergeant Avery Junior Johnson. She bravely fought the Covenant in numerous battles, ultimately dying a hero as the UNSC brought the war to a close.
the Prophet of Truth was slain at the hands of the Arbiter (Thel ‘Vadam). For decades, the Minister of Fortitude (Truth) was an exceptional politician. Thanks to his cunning and machinations, he rose to the rank of High Prophet and eventually took control of the Covenant.
Although, his distrust of the Elites caused him to move against them at a critical hour. In turn, they aligned with the UNSC, ultimately tipping the scales in humanity’s favour to win the Human-Covenant war.
